According to the report on foreign direct investment in the first 7 months of 2022 of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, as of July 20, 2022, the total registered FDI capital into Vietnam reached over 15.54 billion USD, equaling 92 .9% over the same period in 2021. In which, registered FDI capital into the Southeast region and the Red River Delta accounted for more than 70% of the total registered FDI capital into Vietnam.

Currently, foreign investors have invested in 51 provinces and cities across the country in the first 7 months of 2022. In which, Binh Duong leads the way with a total registered investment capital of nearly 2.6 billion USD, accounting for 16.7% total registered investment capital and increased by 94.9% over the same period in 2021.

After Binh Duong, TP. Ho Chi Minh City ranked second with a total investment capital of over 2.43 billion USD, accounting for 15.6% of total capital, up 36.5% over the same period. Bac Ninh ranked third with a total registered investment capital of over 1.68 billion USD, accounting for 10.8% of total capital and increasing more than 2.8 times over the same period in 2021.

The top 10 provinces and cities attracting the most FDI inflows in the first 7 months of 2022 include: Binh Duong (2.6 billion USD), Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City (2.43 billion USD), Bac Ninh (1.68 billion USD), Thai Nguyen (1.53 billion USD), Hai Phong (1.02 billion USD), Hanoi (0.83 billion USD) , Bac Giang ($0.82 billion), Long An ($0.59 billion), Dong Nai ($0.56 billion) and Nghe An ($0.52 billion).

In terms of the number of new projects, foreign investors still focus on investing in big cities with convenient infrastructure such as Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi. In which, Ho Chi Minh City leads in number of new projects (40.2%) and second in number of projects with capital adjustment, reaching 14.7%, just behind Hanoi (17.8%). .

In terms of six economic regions, the Southeast is the region that attracts the most FDI in the first seven months of 2022. Specifically, the total registered capital in the Southeast region is about $6.4 billion, accounting for 41% of the total capital. register. In which, Binh Duong is the province attracting the most FDI in the Southeast region.

After the Southeast region, the Red River Delta ranks second with a total registered capital of over 4.86 billion USD, accounting for 31.28% of the total registered capital. Among 11 localities in the Red River Delta, Bac Ninh is the province attracting the most FDI.

In third place is the Northern Midlands and Mountains region with a total registered capital of over 2.6 billion USD, accounting for 16.8% of the total registered capital. Thai Nguyen is the most FDI attraction in the Northern Midlands and Mountains.

Accordingly, the total registered capital in the Southeast region, the Red River Delta and the Northern Midlands and Mountains accounted for nearly 90% of the total registered capital in the first 7 months of 2022.

The North Central and Central Coast regions, the Mekong River Delta and the Central Highlands have total registered FDI capital of USD 873 million, USD 813 million and USD 9 million, respectively. In the North Central and Central Coast regions, Nghe An is the province attracting the most FDI inflows. Besides, Long An is the province attracting the most FDI inflows in the Mekong Delta.
