LEGO Group invests 1 billion USD factory in Binh Duong

On the afternoon of December 8, in the presence of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, LEGO Group had a ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Limited Company (VSIP) to build a new factory in Binh Duong.

Attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (Becamex IDC) and leaders of VSIP.

The project has a total investment of more than 1 billion USD, is expected to be deployed in the second half of 2022 and start operation in 2024, contributing to the creation of 4,000 jobs. This is the project with the largest investment capital by a Danish enterprise in Vietnam.

LEGO was founded in Denmark in 1932. The LEGO game system, based on LEGO bricks, allows children and fans to design and build anything they can imagine. . It is known that this will be LEGO's 6th factory in the world and 2nd in Asia, with the expectation that it will help LEGO expand LEGO's global supply chain network, thereby flexibly and quickly responding to changes in demand. changes in consumer demand in each region, shortening supply chains and reducing the environmental impact of long-distance transportation. From there, the business can continue to bring fun experiences to many children in the years to come.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Carsten Rasmussen, LEGO Group Chief Operating Officer, said that the group is looking forward to working with VSIP to build this modern factory, contributing to thousands of additional opportunities. new jobs as well as indirectly support local businesses and communities.
