As a province located in the southern key economic development region, Dong Nai is adjacent to the following regions: To the east by Binh Thuan province, to the northeast by Lam Dong province, to the west by Ho Chi Minh City, to the northwest by Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc provinces, to the south by Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. Dong Nai is a province with a convenient transportation system with many arterial traffic routes running through such as: National Highway 1A, National Highway 20, National Highway 51; north-south railway; Near Saigon port, Tan Son Nhat International Airport has created favorable conditions for economic activities in the region as well as trade with the whole country and has a role in linking the Southeast region with the Central Highlands.

II. POPULATION
- In 2019, the population of Dong Nai reached 3,097,107 people.
- The population density is 516.3 people/km².
- Urban population accounts for 48.4%, rural population accounts for 51.6% is also the province with the 2nd largest population in the South (after Ho Chi Minh City).
- Bien Hoa is the city directly under the province with the largest population in the country, with a population size equivalent to 2 centrally-run cities, Da Nang and Can Tho.
- The population is concentrated mostly in Bien Hoa with more than 1 million inhabitants and in 2 districts of Trang Bom, Long Thanh

- Dong Nai is the gateway to the Southeast economic region – the most developed and dynamic economic region in the country.

- In 2019, the industrial production index increased by 8.7%, the value of agro-forestry and fishery production increased by 2.7%. Budget revenue reached VND 54,431 billion, reaching 100% of the assigned estimate, budget expenditure reached VND 22,509 billion, reaching 109% of the estimate.
- In 2019, Dong Nai has a trade surplus of about 3.2 billion USD
- Total foreign investment is estimated at 1,450 million USD, reaching 145% of the plan, equal to 75.7% over the same period. Up to now, there are 1,457 valid projects in the province with a registered capital of about 30 billion USD.
