In the morning of December 26, the People's Committee of Long An province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the provincial road project DT 823D, the axis connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Long An and the East - Southwest provinces.

The project has a starting point at Km0+000 bordering Long An province and Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City, the end point of Km14+274 at Hau Nghia intersection with National Highway N2 (Ring 4 road), Ho Chi Minh and DT road. .825, Duc Hoa district.

The route has a total length of over 14 km, designed according to the standards of a secondary urban main street, with a speed of 80 km/h, a road surface of 25 m, and 6 lanes. The project has a total investment of over 2,500 billion VND, of which the Central Government supports 1,000 billion VND, the rest is from the provincial budget and other lawfully mobilized capital sources.

The contract was awarded by the consortium of Hai Duong Embankment Construction and Rural Development Joint Stock Company - Hoan Hao Company Limited - Trung Thanh Investment and Construction Company Limited. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

Giving the order to start construction, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut, Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An province, said that provincial road 823D is an important project, creating a synchronous traffic link between Ho Chi Minh City and Long An, serving the needs of goods transportation. western region. When the project is completed, it will stimulate economic development, attract investment, promote trade and service industries, and accelerate urbanization.

Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Van Ut requested the provincial Department of Transport to regularly supervise, monitor and support the construction unit to follow the schedule, ensure the quality of the work, and work safety. He also directed the People's Committee of Duc Hoa district to quickly settle the work of land acquisition and site clearance so that the construction works on schedule, put into use, and exploits according to the plan.

According to Mr. Dang Hoang Tuan, Director of Long An Department of Transport, the construction of provincial road 823D, along with roads that have been and are being invested by the Central Government, Ho Chi Minh City and Long An province in the area will contribute step by step. complete the regional transport network as planned.
