On December 15, Quang Tri Development Consortium Company Limited held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Quang Tri Industrial Park project. The project has a total area of 481 hectares, located in Dien Sanh town, Hai Truong commune and Hai Lam commune (Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province).

The project is implemented by Quang Tri Development Consortium Company Limited, a joint venture of Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company Limited, Amata Bien Hoa Joint Stock Company of Thailand and Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation.

The project was approved by the Prime Minister's Decision No. 418/QD-TTg on March 23, 2021 with a total investment capital of 2,074 billion VND. Of which, phase 1 has a scale of 97.4 hectares - total investment capital of 504.39 billion VND.

Quang Tri Industrial Park aims to attract quality investment capital from reputable businesses, bring many quality and meaningful job opportunities for local people and contribute to the development of the province. Priority industries for attracting Quang Tri industrial park: Textiles, footwear, packaging, printing, wood and furniture processing, food and beverages.

Quang Tri Industrial Park has a scale of 481 hectares. As of December 2023, the industrial park has basically completed the site clearance work of phase 1 of 97.4 hectares. After that, the industrial park will carry out construction work and build technical infrastructure, with the expected time of handing over land to customers around Quarter 4^th 2024.

From the local authority, Mr. Vo Van Hung, Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, said that Quang Tri Industrial Park is a key project of the province, with very important significance in attracting investment, promoting Quang Tri's strengths, contributing to the economic and social development of Quang Tri province, creating an economic center along the East - West Economic Corridor connecting Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar. Quang Tri province will always be ready and create all conditions to support businesses to invest in Quang Tri province.

Attending and speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that the Quang Tri Industrial Park project has basic advantages such as a very important strategic geographical location. Infrastructure connection is very convenient in developing industrial parks; Quang Tri province has abundant human resources, clean premises, clean energy sources and especially the attention and support of the government and people for the project.

To soon put the Industrial Park into effective operation, aiming to become an economic center along the East - West economic corridor connecting Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung requested the province Quang Tri will soon complete to submit to the Prime Minister for approval the Quang Tri Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. Organize the review and adjustment of the General Planning for construction of the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone.

Also at the groundbreaking ceremony, 5 businesses signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to lease land in Quang Tri Industrial Park. Winzen Holding Company of Hong Kong (China) and Join Success Wealth Company of Singapore plan to carry out garment production in the Industrial Park, along with three Vietnamese enterprises participating in furniture production and motorbike distribution.
